eSIM

An eSIM (Embedded SIM) is a modern version of the traditional SIM card that is physically embedded inside a device, such as a smartphone, tablet, smartwatch, or even IoT devices. Unlike traditional SIM cards, which are removable and need to be physically swapped out to change network providers, eSIMs are programmable remotely, allowing users to switch carriers and profiles without needing to insert a new card.

    • The carrier’s SM-DP+ system securely delivers the eSIM profile to the device. Once downloaded, the device is automatically configured to use the new network.
  3. Profile Management:
    • Users can switch between different profiles without the need to change SIM cards. For instance, users can store one profile for their local carrier and another for an international carrier when traveling.
