ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System) is a European standard for train signaling and control, consisting of the European Train Control System (ETCS) and a communication system using GSM-R. Unlike traditional trackside signals, ETCS controls train speed based on information received through GSM-R communication. This system allows for customized information delivery to each train, improving rail infrastructure capacity and performance significantly.
