SMS

The Short Message Service (SMS) is a paging service designed for sending brief messages to mobile phones. SMS initially originated as a feature within the GSM network, but today, several other mobile communication systems provide this service as well.

A standard Short Message Service message has a length of 1120 bits, allowing users to send and receive text messages containing a maximum of 160 characters or data messages with a maximum size of 140 bytes. Nevertheless, there is the option to combine multiple messages into a single, larger message.
