ITU-T

The International Telecommunication Union Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is one of the three sectors of the ITU (International Telecommunication Union), a specialized agency within the United Nations that focuses on telecommunications. ITU-T plays a critical role in the field of telecommunications by addressing technical, operational, and tariff-related matters and developing global standards through the issuance of Recommendations.

The World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA), convening every four years, plays a pivotal role in the ITU-T’s work. During these assemblies, topics for study are determined, and ITU-T study groups are tasked with conducting research and producing Recommendations on these subjects. The WTSA also holds the authority to approve ITU-T Recommendations, ensuring their global acceptance and implementation.
