LTE Advanced

LTE Advanced represents a significant enhancement of the LTE standard, aiming to meet IMT-Advanced requirements. It promises peak user data rates of up to 1 Gbit/s for downloads and 500 Mbit/s for uploads. To achieve these high speeds, LTE Advanced introduces scalable frequency bandwidth of up to 100 MHz, five times more than LTE channels, and combines non-contiguous radio spectrum channels through spectrum aggregation. Standardization efforts for LTE-Advanced began in 2008, and it will be incorporated into the 3GPP specification starting from Release 10.
