GGSN

As of the latest available information, the Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN) remains a critical component of GPRS networks. It continues to facilitate the interworking between GPRS networks and external packet-switched networks, including the Internet. The GGSN operates as a router, concealing the GPRS infrastructure from external networks. It tracks active mobile users, allocates IP addresses, and ensures proper data routing. Moreover, it plays a central role in billing for data services. While newer mobile network technologies have emerged, the GGSN remains integral in managing data traffic and connectivity between GPRS networks and the broader digital landscape.
