Broadcast

In radiocommunications, broadcasting involves transmitting information to the general public, encompassing both audio (radio) and video (television) transmissions using high antenna masts and powerful transmitters. In network communication, broadcast entails sending information simultaneously to all network nodes and terminals, whether in fixed or wireless networks. For instance, in a cellular network like GSM, base stations broadcast their identity, informing nearby mobile devices of network availability. Multicasting, on the other hand, directs information only to users who request it, reducing the need for widespread transmission in network segments where it’s not needed.
