Cell Broadcast Centre

The Cell Broadcast Centre (CBC) is a component in a mobile network responsible for sending Cell Broadcast messages (SMS-CB). It receives messages from information providers and can modify them, including control data such as the target area, transmission schedule, and repetition frequency. The CBC then transmits these messages to the relevant base station controllers (BSC) within the mobile network. Information providers use a Cell Broadcast Entity (CBE) to define and manage SMS-CB messages, which may be located at their premises.
