The Association of Radio Industries and Businesses (ARIB) is a Japanese research institution with designations as “the Center for Promotion of Efficient Use of Radio Spectrum” and “the Designated Frequency Change Support Agency” by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC). ARIB engages in research and development, the establishment of standards, consultation services for radio spectrum coordination, collaboration with international organizations, and the provision of support services for frequency changes to facilitate the seamless introduction of digital terrestrial television broadcasting. These endeavors are carried out in collaboration with or with active involvement from telecommunications operators, broadcasters, radio equipment manufacturers, and relevant organizations.
ARIB collaborates with 3GPP as a partner organization.
