DAB

Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) is a digital radio system designed to replace analog radio, offering benefits such as improved sound quality, mobile reception, program selection, and data services. To access DAB, a compatible radio is required. Initially terrestrial (T-DAB), a satellite version (S-DAB) was later developed. The Eureka 147 Project, initiated in 1987, led to DAB’s development, and the WorldDAB Forum now maintains the standard. DAB also supports multimedia services, including IP packet delivery (DAB IP) and multimedia services (DMB).
