3G

3rd Generation of systems for mobile communications (3G) is part of the IMT-2000 family of standards. Within this framework, several standards have been developed. In Europe, it is recognized as UMTS, while other notable standards include CDMA2000 and Mobile WiMax.

The distinguishing feature of the third generation is the integration of voice and data, offering mobile Internet access, multimedia applications, and high-speed data transmission. A key requirement for 3G technology is the ability to enable global roaming.
