Band I

VHF Band I spans from 47 to 68 MHz in Europe and 54-72 MHz in the Americas, primarily allocated for analog television but also used for land mobile and amateur services. Channel arrangements vary, with most European countries offering 3 television channels (2-4) with a 7 MHz bandwidth, while some regions have 8 MHz-wide channels. Band I is not designated for digital television introduction but may be repurposed for services like amateurs or digital radio after analog TV phase-out, particularly in Eastern Europe where analog TV stations may persist for several years.
